Shed W-pounds. Lessen risk of diabetes, etc.
the Plan:
1. stop using the 24/7 feeder
2. feed MeeraKai small portions at specific times throughout the day
3. feed Wicket smaller portions in a separate room at meal-times
4. take away food bowls when they're done eating
5. give W extra exercise throughout the day; get him to jump and run
6. get a sensitive digital scale
7. keep a weight loss chart; measure progress in ounces not pounds
8. check with a vet for target weight and other suggestions
9. be patient and stay motivated! it's for the children!

What a good kittyparent you are! I gave up on getting mine to lose poundage. The two FatBoyz were just popping over to the neighbours' (we share a feral and an outdoor cat) and stuffing up.
Maybe I'll try again.
You make me feel so guilty - Petunnia and Aretoo are bad enough, but then there's Lucy!
give up on the guilt, lizzie! we all pick our battles. if i were not feeling especially lonely these days, would i have turned my thoughts so intensely to wicket's weight? i don't know. your babies are so loved and they know it.
yours too, pc. let's see first if my attempts, still so nascent!, stick, and if they do, then y'all can give this a try. tho with soft-hearted neighbors this many be extra-tricky. everything in its own time
