Mortal enemies, or just good friends?

Sometimes Meera and Kai go for each others' throats. Is this normal kitten-play, or is this cause for separation? It will start innocently enough, a swat here, a swipe there. Then it escalates until their arms are around each others' necks, teeth sunk into throat fur. Meera mews piteously when she's the attackee; it's a horrible sound. I don't know if I should be worried!

Brothers and sisters: Cloud, who is way smaller than her brother, gets absolutely furious with Cyrrie when they wrastle and he pins her down... She sounds like she's being murdered, but when I intervene, as I always do, she's always just fine, just mad! Auntie L.

Thanks, Auntie L. I needed to hear that. And Auntie J. showed me some reassuring pictures of Sebastian and Katie gnawing on each other's ankles. Yet they emerge from the fray unscathed.

that is the way Makoa and Ka Nani play. He plays and she screams like a banshee, but she is the top cat always licking and kissing him, putting her scent on him...not letting her pretty boy out of her scent sight!... Dont be surprised once you get them fixed if your little boy"acts out" like a boy, either. They come hard wired for that regardless of how we humans interviene...and you know the old saying boys will be boys

Thanks for the advice & suggestions! I have wondered how cats' behavior changes once they're fixed. Popoki Kai has already been snipped; Meera has a date with the vet in two weeks.
I've noticed, too, that Meera may make a dying sound with her brother's teeth in her neck, but attacks her brother just as often as he attacks her. So all's fair...
